Vitalis (pronounced "vital"-"talisman") earned his bachelor's degree in music and anthropology from Bard College. At Bard, he studied voice with Ilka LoMonaco and eminent performers including the tenor Rufus Müller, cellist Luis García Renart, and directors Nic Muni and Rod Gomez.As a community-engaged performing artist, Vitalis has extensive experience facilitating music, theater, and creative writing workshops in Michigan detention facilities. He has been facilitating creative arts workshops with the Prison Creative Arts Project at the University of Michigan since 2018.As a private voice teacher, Vitalis maintains a voice studio in Ann Arbor, MI and teaches virtually, as well. He taught classical singing at the Music Institute of Sullivan and Ulster Counties in Ellenville, NY and musical theatre at the New Windsor Music Academy in New Windsor, NY.
